It's here. Fickle weather. High winds. From the north. The dreadful south blow. Much needed rain. Occasional snow with a bit of sleet mixed in. The welcomed sun. Twenty variations of green overtaking the browns and grays. The first wildflowers. Birds, birds, birds. The midge hatch. Handwarmers. New gravel bars. Old bank maple finally swept away after more seasons than we've seen. Sink tips. Fiddleheads. Maxima Ultra Green. Big black streamers. Dirty water. 46 degrees! Thermos filled with dark roast. Fingerless gloves. Beanie. Buff. Did I bring the puffy? Mushroom hunts. Goose nests. Restock the dry box. Fossil find. Size eight Prince. Morning light. The first of many evening rises.
