It's been a really busy month at the ranch. Instead of giving a play by play account of the month's trips, I'll just give the best lines and thoughts of the month:
Look, more rain. New line smell. Blackflies. Highlift Jacks. A riser! Sixteen inches of visibility. Bring the bigger anchor. First bear siting of the season. Macanudo Maduros. Smelt run. Deep Sevens rock. Freakin mud. Check the flow. Rain. Griffith's Gnats. Fix a Flat. Which raincoat is dried out? Why did we bring sunscreen? Bug dope. Chili. Washed out roads. 27,000CFS!!! Mono cuts. Floating Dead Smelt size 2. Cafe Mocha riverside. Where's my headlamp? That ain't 18 inches. Funky nalgene bottles. Stinky dog. Egg patterns. Moose droppings. The take out has drowned. Skunk cabbage green. Cracked windshields. One inch Thingamabobbers. BB. This Capilene is toast. Restock the nymphs. Yellow lenses. Mushroom hunts. A new back channel. Mend. Mend. Strip. Again. Again. SET!
